Analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets recently indicated that a fifth generation iPad and a second generation iPad Mini is expected to launch in March.White delivered his prediction in a note based on sources consultedat the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show, which was held in Las Vegas on January 8 through 11.
“Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March,” White’s note read. “The iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini that debuted in October.”
According to9To5Mac’sMark Gurman,a March release would be an “aggressive product update cycle for Apple,” as the company has been known to release updates to all iOS devices on a yearly schedule. However, Gurman also noted that Apple’s usual cycle was broken this past year when the company released an update to the full-sized iPad inNovember, which was seven months after the debut of the third-generation iPad.
