New updates coming for Galaxy S3

Having Samsung Galaxy S3 problems, such as issues with older Android operating systems? Well, Samsung might have the solution, recently announcing that it is rolling out updates to its Android Jelly Bean OS and offering a look into the new features that can be expected, GottaBeMobile's Adam Mills reported.

This is the first time that the company has disclosed the details of what the update means for the S3 and the Note 2, for which it will be also rolled out. Here's what can be expected from the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade:

  • KNOX: A security solution developed for both businesses and smartphone users
  • SmartSwitch: This allows a Samsung user to easily receive and transfer content from other devices
  • HomeSync: Gives owners the ability to store music, videos and text from wherever they are at

International Business Times reported a few more features that will also be available for those who get the Jelly Bean update. Those include Bluetooth Low Energy support capabilities, Galaxy Gear compatibility and easier text inputting. Once released, Galaxy owners will be able to download the updates over a Wi-Fi connection or through the Samsung Kies suite from their computers. It is also suggested that users free up phone storage space, as the new update will be a large size. Although there has been no official release date, many expect it to be sometime within the next month.

"Overall, these are both shaping up to be key updates for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, it's now just a matter of time before they roll out," Mills wrote. "Rumored timelines have both suggested November so it's possible that it will only be a few more weeks before these updates roll out."

If any Galaxy user is having issues with his or her phone, they should send it into iResQ, as its experts can handle all types of smartphone repair.
