New technologies help your Apple device conquer liquid

A new technology from Liquipel that protects electronic devices with water-resistant nanocoating is on display at the 2013 International Consumers Electronics Show, which is going on now in Las Vegas, January 8 through 11.

MacRumors reported that while water-resistant nanocoating is not exactly new technology, Liquipel has debuted a much more effective version of it at this year's CES. The new version is called Liquipel 2.0, and the Santa Ana-based company says it's up to 100 times more effective than the watersafe nanocoating that Liquipel first introduced at 2012's CES.

“Liquipel's product is designed to protect electronic devices from water damage, adding a vapor-applied water resistant coating that does not compromise the performance of the device,” MacRumors reported.

Liquipel's Managing Director Sam Winkler told Engadget that devices that are treated with the latest version of Liquipel can be submerged under water for 30 minutes without having any damage.

9To5Mac recently reported on Incipio's most recent ultra-waterproof mountable cases, which can be submerged in up to 25 feet of water.

While the latest technology is making water damage less of a reality, accidents still happen. If your Apple device falls in the water, iResQ's iPhone and iPad repair services can get your devices back to working order.
