New ‘Mini’ iPad could be coming out in October

After months of talk and anticipation, one analyst is predicting that Apple will be releasing a much less expensive and much smaller version of the iPad later this year. Pacific Crest analyst Andy Hargreaves is predicting Apple will release a 7.85-inch iPad in October. He said in a report that he believes 10 million of these devices will be sold by December 2012 and 35.2 million all of 2013.

“We believe our iPad mini unit estimates are well within Apple's production capacity,” Hargreaves wrote in the report on the smaller iPad. “We anticipate 25 percent cannibalization of the larger 9.7-inch iPad (for every four 7.85-inch iPads added, we reduced our 9.7-inch iPad estimate by one), so our total F2013 iPad estimate increases to 91.6 million from 65.2 million.”

Tom Mainelli, IDC's research director of Mobile Connected Devices, told CNET that he believes the iPad Mini, as it is currently being called, could help Apple increased its stranglehold on the market. He believes the company will become even stronger than ever with this device, according to a report.

Whether a full sized or mini tablet, users shouldn't be afraid of what will happen if the device happens to break. With iPad repair, users can send in their devices and get them quickly and as good as new.
