New iPhone in September, tiny iPad in October

Look out! You might get hit by one of the new products Apple has flying out of its doors in the next few months. Then again, stampedes might be the real danger, as there are sure to be huge crowds at Apple stores when the company releases its new iPhone 5 in September and the iPad Mini in October. If you score one of these devices in the mad rush, be sure to have iResQ on speed dial for iPhone repair or iPad repair, to keep your new prized possession in tip-top shape.

TechCrunch said it believes the iPhone will launch on September 12, although it is still not confirmed. John Gruber writes on the Daring Fireball website that he doesn't believe these products will debut at the same event, instead saying he believes there will be separate events to draw more attention to each product.

“I don’t think Apple would want reviews of both a new iPhone and new-size iPad appearing at the same time,” Gruber wrote. “Why share the spotlight? Why have another Apple product battling with the iPhone for the top spots in news coverage? … The more I think about it, the less sense it makes for the iPhone to even share the stage at the announcement with any other product. The iPhone is too big, too cool, and garners too much attention — and it’s in Apple’s interest to keep that attention undiluted.”

Gruber described the iPhone as the “king” of Apple's current product lineup. However, he wrote, he could imagine an event at which the company jointly unveils the iPad Air, a new version of the iPod Touch, and new versions of the iPod music player.
