New Apple TV could be on the horizon

In a recent interview with NBC's Brian Williams, Apple CEO Tim Cook made somewhat vague references to the idea of the company introducing an updated Apple TV model.

“When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years,” Cook said. “It's an area of intense interest. I can't say more than that.”

A recent article in The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is working with several component suppliers in Asia to work out a number of television set designs, which many people take as a sign that the company is getting close to expand its device offerings into living rooms. The source indicated that Apple has been engaged in testing prototypes for several years now, testing and developing products internally before moving to outside suppliers.

Apple's iOS currently supports numerous apps that can turn your device into a remote control for your television, including Sky TV's Sky+ app, Xbox's SmartGlass app and Satechi's BT Media Remote. If Apple does release a TV in the near future, if you are using your iPad as a remote to flip through the media universe, iResQ's iPad screen repair services can get you back enjoying your cool new TV in no time.
