More power: Facebook app gets an upgrade
Those who have an iPad or iPhone most likely also have a Facebook application to help connect to friends and family members … and perhaps a rock band, company or stranger. The previously slow-as-molasses app has been turned on its ear and replaced with one much faster, according to Facebook. If you're missing out on this new app due to a broken device, look to iPad repair. You'll (get ready to groan) "like" the results.
"Facebook 5.0 for iOS is twice as fast as the previous version when launching the app, scrolling through news feed and opening photos in feed," said Facebook product manager Mick Johnson in a blog post on Facebook. "We’ve rebuilt the app from the ground up, so now the app opens much faster and your news feed and notifications load right when you open Facebook."
InformationWeek said Facebook is under some pressure to make sure its iPad and iPhone versions of the website work just as well as it does in a traditional browser. With the company's stock dropping, the Mark Zuckerberg-led social media titan needs to whip up some enthusiasm.
Mashable said the app has the same look as the old one but a completely new feel, and has features like the ability to see status updates in real-time instead of having to constantly refresh. Apple fans who broke their screens in frustration at the app's slow load time might want to turn to iPad repair technicians at iResQ to get Facebooking again.
