iPhone Mini rumored to be coming in 2014

When it comes to technology, you might have come to associate “smaller” with more expensive; however, if Apple were to launch an iPhone Mini in the future, it would likely be to offer a more affordable option to potential consumers.

Neil Mawston, executive director at market research firm Strategy Analytics, recently told Reuters that Apple is likely to launch what he referred to as an “iPhone Mini” in 2014 in order to combat Samsung's growing market share by providing a smaller, cheaper device. Due to the success of the recently released iPhone 5, Mawston suggested that Apple's incentive to release a iPhone Mini model in the course of 2013 is low. He predicted that 2014 will be the year that the iPhone Mini surfaces.

A recent report from Topeka Capital Markets researcher Brian J. White further fueled the iPhone Mini rumor by mentioning the possibility of a smaller and less expensive iPhone model aimed at emerging markets, Digital Spy reported.
