The iPhone 5 is still in high demand nearly two months after its initial release, but some production problems are finding new buyers having to wait a little longer to get their new device.

A Wall Street Journal article explained that production delays at one of Apple’s main suppliers is effecting the supply of iPhone 5s. The Taipei-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Company is experiencing “design-related production difficulties,” according to the Wall Street Journal article.

The chairman of the world’s largest contract electronics maker, which is more popularly known as Foxconn Technology Group, explained that the company was trying to hire more people in order to ameliorate falling short of expected production quotas.

A Reuters article quoted Foxconn chairman Terry Gou who told reporters, “It’s not easy to make the iPhones. We are falling short of meeting the huge demand.”

The Wall Street Journal pointed out that Apple sold more than 5 million of the iPhone 5s in the first three days after its release on September 21st. As of October 25th, Apple’s Chief Financial Officer indicated that the iPhone 5 demand was outpacing supply, but that the company was trying to address this.

While the company continues to try and improve its production of the iPhone 5, consider iPhone repair to fix any cracked screens of an older model.
