Impressive numbers from Apple media event

Apple wowed onlookers at its September 12 press event with new products like the iPhone 5, iOS 6 and an updated iPod touch, but the company also drew some “oohs” and “ahhs” by mentioning stunning numbers.

One particular point of amazement: Since the first iPhone’s 2007 release, Apple has sold more than 400 million iOS devices. The iPad, which Apple premiered in 2010, already accounts for sales of 84 million units, 17 million of which sold in the third quarter of 2012 alone. These numbers mean that Apple controls a commanding 68 percent of the tablet market. The iPad isn’t the only device taking off for Apple, though.

Driven by the Retina display MacBook Pro, Mac captured 27 percent of U.S. market share in the most recent quarter, making it No. 1 among computer brands. Another whopping number? Debuting its new headphones, the EarPods, Apple said it has shipped 600 million pairs of headphones since it introduced the first iPod.

As more users adopt Apple products, they can also take comfort in the fact that their devices will last. With MacBook repair and iPad repair from iResQ, there’s no reason to worry about broken parts, so buyers can keep lining up in huge numbers to pick up Apple’s latest devices.
