Hottest apps for your iPhone or iPad

While smartphones are useful for important things like work, emergencies and navigation, some Apple device users are in the market for more recreational apps. What good is a smartphone anyway without an app that allows you to make pretend you are a dentist or one that lets you model digital-clay monsters?

The Guardian’s Stuart Dredge recently highlighted some standout iPhone and iPad apps. Topping the list was 123D Creature, which allows users to model digital-clay monsters on iPad devices and order 3D-printed models of their creations.

Kickstarter, One Direction Scrapbook, Sound Uncovered and Tempo Smart Calendar
Other apps that made Dredge’s list included Kickstarter, One Direction Scrapbook, Sound Uncovered and Tempo Smart Calendar, all of which are free to download. Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website that now has an official app, where users can see which projects are out there from musicians, artists, game developers or anyone else who is trying to raise money to get a project off the ground.

The One Direction Scrapbook app is one that is sure to excite teenage girls and other fans around the globe. This app allows users to create digital scrapbook pages by customizing their own photos and those of the British boy band, One Direction.

Sound Uncovered is an app for all ages launched by San Francisco’s Exploratorium museum. It is an interactive app for users to explore the world of sounds with auditory illusions and other acoustic phenomena. Finally, Tempo Smart Calendar is an app that is only available in the United States and was developed by the same people that created Apple’s Siri technology. Dredge explained that this mobile calendar app takes things like emails, contacts and locations and integrates them in a single place, as well as providing directions, documents and LinkedIn profiles for convenience. This app even lets users easily send apologetic emails or texts when they are running late.

Fixing cavities
In a recent Kotaku article, contributor Mike Fahey listed the free apps that were topping the iPad game charts as of February 15. While Infinity Blade, 4 Pics 1 Word and Temple Run 2 took the top three spots, the interesting Tiny Dentist app came in at the No. 4 spot. Fahey explained that this is the second time that a free dental simulation game has appeared on the top free apps charts since fall of last year, but he also maintained that the appeal is understandable for this one, which features cartoon animals getting their cavities fixed.

In your download frenzy to get all the latest and hottest apps, don’t get overexcited and drop your iPad or iPhone. However, if this should be the case, iResQ’s iPhone and iPad repair services can get you back to downloading shape in no time.
