Beyond the next iPhone and iPad:; possible upcoming Apple releases

New announcements for the iPhone are coming in the next month, according to multiple reports, but what about beyond that? According to a note from Citi Research, we could soon be seeing an iPad Mini Retina and the iPhone 6 as well. CNET reported that a note to investors from Citi said the Mini Retina could come in the first quarter of 2014 and the iPhone 6 could come halfway through 2014.

“In our 6/7/13 note, we first indicated that the iPad Mini with Retina display was likely pushed out until late 2013 or early 2014,” the note said, according to the news source. “Despite some recent investor discussion that it may be pulled forward, our Asia team continues to agree with our opinion that iPad Mini Retina is unlikely to be pulled forward.”

Citi believes the newest iPhone announcement, coming in early September, may not be as low-priced as people think, as it could only be $50 lower than current models. This may cause some consumers and providers to balk at the higher-than-expected cost of the “cheaper” iPhone.

The research company believes that the second half of 2013 will see the iPad 5, with less weight and a thinner design, and the iPad Mini at a reduced price. Regarding the rumors of the iPhone 6 and the iWatch, Citi said they expect the new iPhone to be released in the first half of 2014 and the iWatch in the second half of the year.

Highlight Press said Apple has dropped hints that the iWatch could be released earlier than expected, as a quote from a recent earnings call from Apple's chief financial officer Paul Oppenheimer said that they are “on track to have a busy fall.” CEO Tim Cook said the company has opportunities for new products and growth in 2014 with items they are really proud of. Those who are happy with their current Apple products should know that iResQ is there for iPad or iPhone repair quickly and efficiently whenever it is needed.
