Apple’s App Store beats out Google Play

If you simply can't get enough of Apple's App Store, you're not alone. Dutch analytics firm Distimo recently published a year-end review in an effort to “make the app market transparent” by providing insight into top app trends. There were numerous significant findings in the report, however, perhaps the most notable is Apple's dominance of the market despite Google Play's year of substantial growth.

The report indicated that on an average day in November, Apple App Store revenues passed the $15 million mark, while an average day revenue for Google Play remain below $3.5 million.

The study analyzed data in 20 of the largest countries for both major App stores. The United States remains the largest market for apps according to revenue analysis, followed by Japan, the UK and Australia.

“Manufacturers on Google's Android platform may be selling more devices, but Apple's App Store is still the best place to be for developers trying to make a living,” wrote contributor Philip Elmer-DeWitt for Fortune.

While you're perusing the App Store and looking to download any of the more than 700,000 apps, keep iResQ's iPhone and iPod repair services in mind.
