Apple showing interest in new high-tech stylus

Styluses haven't exactly been something fans of Apple devices have had to worry about. If you're having an iPad repair service done, it is never usually because styluses don't work on the device, but that may not be the case in the future, as AppleInsider is reporting the company is looking into a iOS stylus with haptic feedback and an optical sensor.

“An input device capable of generating haptic feedback may help a user navigate content displayed on the screen, and may further serve to enhance the content of various applications by creating a more appealing and realistic user interface,” an Apple patent filing reads according to the website. The filing notes that haptic feedback could be provided from force, vibration or motion from the user's stylus. This could make for some very interesting options on the next set of Apple devices.

CNET reminds readers that just because there is a filing doesn't necessarily mean the stylus will come to fruition, but there have been several apps for the iPad and iPhone that require a stylus.

IPad glass replacement may become more important than ever if the stylus becomes something that catches on with these devices. Users should keep a watchful eye for what will happen with this new technology.
