Apple MacBooks the laptop of choice

According to PCWorld's 2012 reader survey of satisfaction, reliability and service, Apple's MacBook still reigns as king of the laptop mountain.

PCWorld contributor Christopher Null detailed the survey findings and parameters, noting that MacBooks scored high across the spectrum of satisfaction measures. Null revealed that only 6 percent of all survey participants indicated that they had ever had a significant problem with an Apple device or machine.

Null explained that Apple's success was so markedly ahead of competitors like Asus, Lenovo, Sony, Acer, Dell and HP, that the report clearly suggested Apple was the laptop producer of choice. The survey ranked the top 10 brands and had PCWorld readers rank different metrics on a scale of 1 to 10.  Apple was at the top of every parameter, notable scoring a 9.3 out of 10 for reliability. Apple MacBook owners are also particularly happy with the display quality.

The latest MacBook release occurred earlier this year at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference. The new MacBook Pro with Retina display has been reviewed beautifully, and TechCentral contributor Delano Stockhoff even referred to it as an “amazing product.”
