Apple and Starbucks partner for AIDS research

As the holidays approach, more people are getting in the giving spirit. In honor of World AIDS Day taking place on December 1, Apple and Starbucks are working together with (PRODUCT)RED to help fund AIDS research with special gift cards.

Apple and Starbucks are offering a gift card combo that could be an excellent idea for the gift-giving season. According to MacRumors, when you buy the $15 iTunes and $15 Starbucks gift card, the two companies will contribute 5 percent of that purchase to the Global Fund to help fund AIDS research.

MacRumors indicated that Apple has supported the (PRODUCT) RED campaign for a long time through the sales of red iPod nano models, iPad Smart Cases and Smart Covers, and, most recently, by releasing a (PRODUCT) RED bumper for the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 models.

In an Apple internal town hall meeting that took place in February, CEO Tim Cook commented on Apple's work with (PRODUCT) RED over the years, reported MacRumors. He noted that through its sales of special products, Apple has given over $50 million to the project.

If the Apple/Starbucks collaboration gets you excited about giving this holiday – so excited that you drop your iPod Touch – the speed of iResQ's iPod Touch repair services is sure to get you back in the holiday spirit.
