12 million iPad mini devices to ship by the end of the year

Apple's iPad mini devices have received a wide array of press, from exuberant praise to reluctance, but the iPad mini's impact appears to be picking up steam. DigiTimes recently cited sources at the upstream supply chain, reporting that Apple has recently increased its volume of iPad mini orders from 8 million to 10 million units. The source further indicated that Apple iPad mini shipments could reach 12 million units by the end of the year.

The supply chain detailed that the original estimation for iPad mini shipments was set at 10 million by Apple, but after concerns about yields and shortages of components, the company adjusted its volume down to 6 to 8 million units. Since yields have been significantly improving, iPad mini shipments during October and November have already passed the 8 million unit mark.

“This is the first time that investors have been informed of how well the iPad mini is performing,” Forbes contributor Louis Bedigian reported. “While the official word from from Apple is that it sold 3 million iPad mini and iPad 4 units combined, the company did not reveal how many units were sold of each individual device.”

This is a big time of year for Apple as many Apple device products top lists across the country and around the world. If you're iPad mini should suffer a fall, iResQ's iPad screen repair services are great to keep in mind.
